Tunnel Boring Machine Launched with EVO Synchronous Lifting System
The construction of the 4.5 km Waterview Connection motorway included the deployment of an Earth Pressure Balance Machine to bore a 2.5 km underground twin tunnel. Commencing the tunneling process required positioning the 3,600 ton tunnel boring machine into its starting position.

Assembling Tower Crane Sections with a Hydraulic Torque Wrench
Numerous joints need to be bolted together during the erection and disassembly of a tower crane. The stability of the tower crane is dependent on the integrity of its bolted sections. The precise application of torque is critical to ensure the tower crane’s stability.

Lifting a Coker for Base Repair Maintenance
The base below a coker at a refinery in the Oil Sands needed to be repaired in order to stabilize the foundation. In order to perform the base repair maintenance the massive vessel needed to be lifted approximately 100 mm.

Slew Bearing Replacement on a Ship Loader
Replacing the slew bearing on the 40 year old (grain) ship loader required lifting the upper structure 300 mm to provide adequate clearance during replacement. Keeping the boom connected made it challenging to maintain the balance of the ship loader during the lift. Maintaining the center of gravity of the ship loader throughout the lift was critical.

Positioning Structural Steel for the Roof of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium
In 2014, the Atlanta Falcons broke ground on a $1.4 billion new stadium in downtown Atlanta. Set to complete in 2017, the 30-story structure will contain roughly 20,000 tons of structural steel, a retractable roof and a 360-degree halo video board that will span five stories inside the stadium.

Improving the Safety and Efficiency of Lifting Carpet Spools with a Cordless Pump
When a manufacturer boosts production to cope with burgeoning demand, efficiency-minded operations staff keenly seek out technologies to help them minimise costs and manual labour while maximising safety and ongoing returns.

Transporting a 1,200 ton Hydraulic Press to the Second Floor with a Hydraulic Gantry
Before Rangemaster could install their new 1,200 ton ring frame Hydraulico press they needed to remove the existing hydraulic double action press. Located on a second floor mezzanine, their existing press needed to be dismantled, lifted, lowered and transported through several space confined areas to the ground floor in order to be removed.

Offshore Production Facility Module Load-Out
An offshore production facility was constructed in the Gulf of Mexico and is projected to be located in water depths of in excess of 5,000 ft. In order to construct the tension-leg platform several modules weighing approximately 7,000 tons needed to be slid into position.

Jack Up System Lifts 1,500-ton Span on Fore River Bridge
No one would call the temporary bridge that was constructed in 2002 over the Fore River between Quincy and Weymouth, Mass., a work of art. The bridge replaced a 1936 Art Deco gem when it could no longer safely carry the 32,000 cars that cross the river each weekday.
